现在公路建设慢慢步出高峰期，随之而来的必定是养护和改建的高潮期，废旧路面材料的再生利用成为主要问题之一。废旧沥青路面材料的再生技术在发达已受到普遍重视，被纳入可持续发展的范畴，并得到广泛应用。

沥青混凝土路面的现场冷再生是指利用旧沥青混凝土路面材料( 包括面层材料和部分基层材料) 进行破碎加工，需要时加入部分新骨料或细集料，按比例加入一定剂量的添加剂( 水泥、石灰、粉煤灰、泡沫沥青和乳化沥青等) 和适量的水，在自然的环境温度下连续地完成材料的铣刨、破碎、添加、拌和、摊铺及压实成型的作业过程，并重新形成结构层的一种工艺方法。再生后，视公路等级的不同，在再生层上加铺沥青混凝土面层。

The site cold recycling of asphalt concrete pavement is the use of old asphalt concrete pavement materials (including surface materials and some basic materials) for crushing and processing. Some new aggregates or fine aggregates are added when required, and a certain proportion of additives (cement, lime, fly ash, foamed asphalt and emulsified asphalt) and proper amount of water are added proportionally. It is a process to continuously complete the milling, crushing, adding, mixing, paving and compaction of materials under natural ambient temperature, and to re form the structural layer. After regeneration, depending on the highway grade, asphalt concrete surface layer is paved on the regeneration layer.
